Highlights on your tour
Stay at Snow Resort Kirkenes
Sleep in a warm, stylish Gamme cabin surrounded by Arctic wilderness. After a day full of impressions, you can relax in the sauna at Snow Resort, enjoy a drink by the fire, and savour a three-course dinner made from local ingredients at the resort's restaurant.
Meet Huskies and Reindeer
Walk between the dog yards, say hello to the huskies and – in season – their puppies, and see reindeer that often graze right outside the cabins – an atmosphere that is both intimate and genuinely northern.
Curated Excursions
Guided tour through Kirkenes and out towards the Russian border, visit Andersgrotta, the largest air-raid shelter in Kirkenes, and haul the giant king crab from the deep.
Midnight Sun or Northern Lights
Depending on the season, enjoy long, bright summer nights under the Midnight Sun or dark polar evenings with the chance to see the Northern Lights dancing above the resort.

Itinerary
Disembarkation in Kirkenes
The Havila Voyages ship arrives in Kirkenes around 9:00 am. After going ashore, you'll meet your guide at the quay and board the bus.
Guided Border Tour
Travel through Kirkenes and the surrounding area, learning about its unique position between Norway, Russia, and Finland. Visit historical monuments, stop at a panoramic viewpoint over the town, and come within a few metres of the Russian border (crossing the border is not permitted).
Visit to Andersgrotta
Descend into Andersgrotta, the main wartime shelter in Kirkenes, and experience a powerful presentation of how locals survived repeated bombing raids.
King Crab Experience & Feast
Travel to the king crab base for a safety briefing and gear-up. Take part in lifting the traps and see these impressive Arctic giants up close. Afterwards, sit down at a local restaurant by the fjord to enjoy a hearty king crab meal.
Check-in at Snow Resort Kirkenes
After the tour, you continue to Snow Resort Kirkenes. Here you check in to your Gamme cabin. You'll then have time to explore the area, say hello to the huskies, or simply relax.
Arctic Calm at The Resort
You'll have a three-course dinner in the restaurant, and can round off the evening in the sauna, in the bar, or outside under the Arctic sky.
Breakfast, Check-Out and Flight to Oslo
Enjoy breakfast at the resort. After check-out, your transfer takes you directly to Kirkenes Airport. Board your scheduled morning flight with departure somewhere around 10:30-11:30, (subject to variations and timetable) from Kirkenes to Oslo. Your Arctic finale is complete, and you arrive in the Norwegian capital ready for your onward journey.
