After your coastal voyage ends in Kirkenes, you can round off your journey in true Arctic style. Stay one night at Snow Resort Kirkenes in a cosy “Gamme” cabin, enjoy full board, meet huskies and reindeer, and experience two of the region’s signature excursions before flying on to Oslo the next day.
Starts from: Kirkenes pier after arrival, around 09:00.
Ends at: Oslo Airport, Gardermoen after morning flight.
Duration: 2 days (1 night at Snow Resort Kirkenes, with all meals included).
Transport: All transfers included.

Meet Huskies and Reindeer
Walk among the husky kennels, say hello to the dogs and (in season) their puppies, and often see reindeer grazing outside the cabins – an atmosphere that feels both intimate and truly northern.
Curated Excursions
Guided tour through Kirkenes and out towards the Russian border, visit Andersgrotta, the largest air-raid shelter in Kirkenes, and haul the giant king crab from the deep.
Midnight Sun or Northern Lights
Depending on the season, enjoy long, bright summer nights under the Midnight Sun or dark polar evenings with the chance to see the Northern Lights dancing above the resort.
Itinerary
Disembarkation in Kirkenes
Your Havila Voyages coastal ship arrives in Kirkenes around 09:00. After disembarkation, your guide meets you at the pier and you board the bus.
Guided Border Tour
Travel through Kirkenes and the surrounding area, learning about its unique position between Norway, Russia, and Finland. Visit historical monuments, stop at a panoramic viewpoint over the town, and come within a few metres of the Russian border (crossing the border is not permitted).
Visit to Andersgrotta
Descend into Andersgrotta, the main wartime shelter in Kirkenes, and experience a powerful presentation of how locals survived repeated bombing raids.
Snow Resort Kirkenes & Lunch
After the tour, continue to Snow Resort Kirkenes. Enjoy lunch and settle into your Gamme cabin. Take time to explore the area, meet the huskies, or simply relax.
King Crab Experience & Feast
Travel to the king crab base for a safety briefing and gear-up. Take part in lifting the traps and see these impressive Arctic giants up close. Afterwards, sit down at a local restaurant by the fjord to enjoy a hearty king crab meal.
Arctic Calm at The Resort
Return to Snow Resort Kirkenes for a 3-course dinner in the restaurant. End the day in the sauna, at the bar, or outside watching the Arctic sky.
Breakfast, Check-Out and Flight to Oslo
Enjoy breakfast at the resort. After check-out, your transfer takes you directly to Kirkenes Airport. Board your scheduled morning flight with departure somewhere around 10:30-11:30, (subject to variations and timetable) from Kirkenes to Oslo. Your Arctic finale is complete, and you arrive in the Norwegian capital ready for your onward journey.

Season & conditions: Excursions operate in all weather conditions, though the exact sequence and timing of the program may vary.
Clothing: Warm layers and sturdy footwear are essential. Specialized outerwear is provided specifically for the King Crab experience.
