Stroll between crooked wooden warehouses and narrow passageways at Bryggen, the UNESCO World Heritage site that tells the story of traders, ships, fish, and people – and how Bergen became the city it is today.

Travel by bus past landmarks such as Grieghallen and Festplassen, continue past St. Mary’s Church and the fish market, and then head towards Mount Ulriken – Bergen’s highest mountain.

Ride the Ulriken Cable Car to 643 metres above sea level and enjoy sweeping views over Bergen’s city centre, fjords, lakes, and mountains – an inspiring way to begin your coastal voyage.

On the summit, savour a hot bowl of local fish soup followed by a classic Bergen Skillingsbolle and freshly brewed coffee or tea, with vegetarian and vegan alternatives available on request.

Clothing: Dress in layers and bring a wind- and waterproof outer layer, as Mount Ulriken can be windy. Closed walking shoes are recommended.

Luggage: You can hand in your luggage at the terminal before the excursion. It will be tagged with your cabin number and transported on board, so you can enjoy the tour without bags.

Meals: Breakfast at the hotel and a meal at the summit are included. Other meals are at your own expense.

Booking deadline: Must be booked at least 30 days before your voyage starts in Bergen and is subject to availability of capacity limitations.

Accessibility: Cobblestones and slopes, and boarding the cable car, may pose challenges for guests with reduced mobility.
