Tour From Sea to Summit

Travel by bus past landmarks such as Grieghallen and Festplassen, continue past St. Mary’s Church and the fish market, and then head towards Mount Ulriken – Bergen’s highest mountain.

Itinerary

Arrival in Bergen

Arrive in Bergen the day before your voyage and check in at your central hotel. The evening is yours to explore the city at your own pace before a good night’s sleep ahead of embarkation.

City Sightseeing

On departure day, you meet your guide at Jektevikterminalen at 10:30 and hand over your luggage. At 11:00, the tour departs by bus through Bergen’s city centre, passing Grieghallen, Festplassen, and other key sights on the way to Bryggen.

Ascent to Mount Ulriken

From Bryggen, the route continues past St. Mary’s Church and the fish market before heading towards Mount Ulriken. At the base station you board the cable car that carries you straight up to the mountain plateau.

Summit Experience

Ride the cable car up to over 600 metres above sea level. Take time to enjoy the panorama over Bergen and the surrounding landscape and savour a local snack with coffee or tea at Skyskraperen.

Havila Voyages Ship Castor

Return and Embarkation

After the meal, the cable car takes you back down and the bus returns you to Jektevikterminalen around 15:00 – in good time for check-in and boarding your Havila Voyages coastal ship from 16:00. Your luggage will already be on its way to your cabin.

Practical information

Booking: You can add this land package when placing a booking after you have selected your voyage, cabin and entered your personal details. You can also add it to an existing booking via MyVoyage using your booking reference.

Clothing: Dress in layers and bring a wind- and waterproof outer layer, as Mount Ulriken can be windy. Closed walking shoes are recommended.

Luggage: You can hand in your luggage at the terminal before the excursion. It will be tagged with your cabin number and transported on board, so you can enjoy the tour without bags.

Meals: Breakfast at the hotel and a meal at the summit are included. Other meals are at your own expense.

Booking deadline: Must be booked at least 30 days before your voyage starts in Bergen and is subject to availability of capacity limitations.

Accessibility: Cobblestones and slopes, and boarding the cable car, may pose challenges for guests with reduced mobility.
