Join a guided walking tour through Hammerfest, one of the world’s northernmost towns, and discover its rich history. On this tour, you will learn how the town has repeatedly risen from the ashes after both city fires and wartime destruction.
The tour starts at the harbour, near the ship in the town centre. We visit important and interesting places that tell the story of Hammerfest’s past and present. You will also see the beautiful Hammerfest Church, the Town Hall, and several other central landmarks in the town. At the end of the tour, we visit The Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society, established in 1963, a unique and well-known membership club for everyone who has visited Hammerfest, where you will get a guided visit – and not least the opportunity to become a member of this very special association.
