Low clouds drift through steep green mountains as a fjord lies perfectly still below, reflecting sky and peaks like glass. From a quiet viewpoint above the valley, Senja reveals its softer side—lush, serene, and almost unreal in the gentle Arctic light.

Senja is known for its rugged landscapes, dramatic mountains and clear coastal waters, offering some of the most spectacular scenery in the Arctic. Join us on a journey along Senja’s dramatic outer coastline, where sea and sky meet in a breathtaking Arctic landscape – a place where steep mountains rise straight from the ocean, small fishing villages cling to the shoreline, and the scenery changes around every corner.

The tour is operated in small groups with only 7–8 guests in each vehicle, creating a personal and relaxed atmosphere throughout the journey. Your driver and guide for the day is an experienced local guide with strong ties to Northern Norway and the Arctic, sharing stories, local knowledge, and insight into the landscapes and everyday life in the north along the way.

Among the highlights are Bergsbotn, where a 44-metre panoramic platform offers impressive views over the Bergsfjord and surrounding mountains, and Tungeneset – a universally accessible walkway made from Siberian larch leading out onto the rocky shoreline with views towards the iconic Okshornan peaks. If we are lucky, we may also spot reindeer, seals, white-tailed eagles or moose along the route – but spectacular scenery and towering mountains are guaranteed throughout the journey.

From Senja’s western coastline, the journey continues by ferry to Kvaløya, surrounded by stunning Arctic coastal scenery, before continuing onwards to Tromsø. Here, you may choose to end the tour or spend some time exploring the city centre on your own before continuing northbound with the ship.

With fjords, mountains, fresh sea air and a peaceful atmosphere, Senja and Kvaløya offer an authentic glimpse into one of Northern Norway’s most unique and spectacular natural regions.

The lunch box provided from the ship can be enjoyed in the vehicle whenever you prefer, or you may wait until the ferry crossing around 14:00. Onboard the ferry, it is possible to purchase refreshments such as coffee and waffles, while also having access to restroom facilities. The first restroom stop during the drive will be around 13:00. Please note that restroom facilities along the route are basic and primitive.

Golden light from the low Arctic sun reflects across a calm fjord on Senja, Norway, as a small group pauses at a mountain viewpoint to take in the vast landscape. Snow-dusted peaks, deep blue water, and fresh spring greenery come together in a quiet moment where nature completely steals the show.
