Your adventure, step by step

Set sail from Ålesund – Your journey begins with a scenic boat ride to Geiranger, accompanied by a our excursion team who’ll share fascinating stories about fjord life, past and present.

Arrive in Geiranger (14:30) – Step ashore via a tender boat and prepare to be wowed by this UNESCO-listed wonder.

Journey to the Norsk Fjordsenter (14:45) – A short bus ride takes you to the visitor center, where Geiranger’s natural beauty meets history and tradition.

Explore, learn & taste (15:00):

  • Gather at the charming Grindløa, where the Fjord Ranger reveals how people have thrived in this dramatic landscape.
  • Savor local waffles and coffee/tea—because no Norwegian adventure is complete without a snack!
  • Discover traditional Norwegian building techniques and the art of fjord living.
  • Stroll through the Fjordsenter’s interactive exhibits at your own pace. The exhibitions showcase the fascinating and distinctive fjord landscape that was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 2005. Through exhibitions and interactive stations, you will gain insight into the geological processes that shaped the fjord landscape, and you can see what the landscape looks like today. You will also learn about the area’s biodiversity and how animals and plants have adapted to the natural habitats here. You should also make sure to watch our beautiful film from across the entire World Heritage area: in the cinema, you can enjoy a powerful nature experience from the comfort of your seat indoors. 

Fossevandringa – Walk with the waterfalls:

  • Up for an adventure? Join the Fjord Ranger on a guided walk down the Fossevandringa, a breathtaking waterfall path with 327 steps and panoramic views of Storfossen.
  • Prefer to take it easy? Enjoy a relaxed stroll at your own pace and take in the sights from solid ground.Return to Ålesund (16:30): Board a comfortable bus for a scenic 2.5-hour drive back to your Havila ship, arriving just in time for dinner (19:15).
