About the excursion

The bus is waiting at the quay and takes you to the base, where you will meet the dogs, receive the necessary instructions, and be provided with clothing. This is followed by an atmospheric dog sledding tour in beautiful surroundings. After the experience, you return by bus to Havila Voyages. Please remember to wear good shoes and warm clothing. If time permits, there will also be an opportunity for a short visit to the Snowhotel and a meeting with the reindeer.

Dog Sledding with huskies

The huskies tug impatiently at their harnesses. They are ready to run. The Alaskan huskies are the athletes among dogs, adapted to the demanding Arctic climate and long-distance running. And you can join them – sit on the sled and be carried across the white wilderness by the raw power of the dogs.

The guided dog sledding tour takes you through Arctic landscapes, where an experienced musher steers the sled while you sit back and enjoy the ride.

In the middle of winter, this takes place under a starry sky, while gradually more of the special northern light appears as spring approaches.

The dog sledding tour also gives you the opportunity to meet the dogs up close. The kennel is home to 180 strong and beautiful huskies. They may seem shy at first, but once you connect, you will feel the warmth of these amazing animals. The kennel is open so guests can also meet both adult dogs and puppies.
