Welcome aboard in Kirkenes! The border with Russia is only a few kilometres away, and the road signs in Kirkenes are in Norwegian and Russian. You can go as far as the border on one of our excursions, or how about a visit to Snow Resort Kirkenes where everything is made of ice and snow?

For the rest of the first day on board, we recommend that you explore the ship and simply enjoy the beautiful Arctic nature that flows by outside the large panoramic windows. How about a workout in our well-equipped gym on deck 7? Or a dip in our jacuzzi on deck 8 followed by a visit to the sauna? In the evening, enjoy a nice dinner in Havrand and we assume you will sleep well in comfortable beds after eventful days in the Arctic.

Svolvær is an ideal starting point for discovering Lofoten, offering everything from coastal culture and galleries to spectacular nature right on your doorstep.

We also recommend a visit to Henningsvær, one of Lofoten’s most iconic fishing villages, known for its unique location, small art galleries, cosy cafés, and dramatic surroundings. Nearby, you will also find excellent hiking trails, kayaking, RIB safaris, sea eagle safaris, and world-class nature experiences – all year round.

The land stay is deliberately designed without fixed programme items, allowing you to tailor the experience to your own interests and preferences. This offers a more personal, flexible, and authentic way to experience Lofoten – exactly the way it suits you.

Day 5

Day 6

Departure from Lofoten

Svolvær → Stamsund

This is the last day in Lofoten and you will now embark on your Havila Voyages ship going south.

Your next Havila ship arrives at the quay in Svolvær at 18:30. You board the ship, check in, and are welcomed to your new cabin before the journey continues southbound. The ship departs Svolvær heading towards Stamsund and onwards to Bodø, as evening settles over Lofoten. You enjoy a three-course dinner in the Havrand Restaurant while the wild and beautiful coastal scenery glides quietly past the panoramic windows.

Day 6

Day 7

Crossing the Arctic Circle

Bodø → Ørnes → Nesna → Sandnessjøen → Brønnøysund → Rørvik

Torghatten summer

By now, we have travelled far enough south to cross the Arctic Circle. Even so, the Northern Lights can still be seen in winter, while summer nights never grow completely dark. Sailing south along the Helgeland coast, we pass a maze of small islands, islets and skerries, as well as the remarkable Torghatten mountain, famous for its natural hole straight through the rock. If you wish, you can also join an excursion to hike up the mountain and walk through the hole.

Day 7

Day 8

Sailing into Trondheim

→ Trondheim → Kristiansund → Molde

Trondheim marks the end of the voyage for some.

After the last night on board, you wake up in historic Trondheim. We arrive in Trondheim at 6:30 AM, but the ship remains docked until 9:30 AM, so you have time to eat breakfast before disembarking.

Nidarosdomen

There are many options for onward travel, either by train or plane. Or perhaps you would like to stay in the beautiful capital of Trøndelag for a few days before ending your vacation? If you are going to Bergen, the voyage continues to Kristiansund and Molde.

Day 9

Sailing into Bergen

Ålesund → Torvik → Måløy → Florø → Bergen

At 2:45 PM, we arrive in beautiful Bergen. While this marks the end of the voyage, your journey doesn’t have to stop here – take the opportunity to explore and experience Bergen at your own pace.

Book our post-voyage Norway in a Nutshell® to Oslo! Enjoy an extra day exploring Bergen with an included hotel stay, then travel to Oslo on Norway’s most iconic tour – followed by an included hotel stay in Oslo.

Please note that Norway in a Nutshell® to Oslo is not included in the Lofoten Coastal Stopover package and must be pre-booked seperately.
